Why this role matters

To support our further worldwide growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Project Engineer to join our team. You will be positioned to form a reliable colleague for our internationally operating Design & Engineering Team. As a Senior Project Engineer you are expected to be the professional who, with his intensive knowledge of projects, engineering and cold stores, can contribute to the continuous knowledge development of the department. Focus of this role is on being the true professional and less on a management, meaning main focus will be on project engineering and developing the engineering skills of the team. You will be responsible for the design and construction of the building and its installations, from the Business Development phase until final take over by our Operations Department. Based in the company’s Headquarters in Breda, you will be part of a multifunctional team and exposed to many parts of our global business.

What you'll do

As a key member of our Design & Engineering Team, you will:

 

  • Manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex designs (managing progress and identifying and managing risks)
  • Oversee product construction and test to ensure completion of projects as efficiently and effectively as possible.
  • Evaluate and improve the changes that substantially impact the scope, budget, or schedule of a project.
  • Develop new engineering concepts for the benefit of our warehouses (ao Energy Management)
  • Provide input regarding project outcomes and resolve escalated issues arising from operations in coordination with other departments.
  • Provide strategic direction to ensure successful project outcomes and completion.
  • Give engineering life-cycle support to realized warehouses.
  • Provide support to Business development initiatives.
  • Provide support to Operational initiatives while safeguarding Newcold’s Design and Engineering standards.
  • Provide support to Sustainability initiatives and integrate them within Newcold’s standard design.
  • Prepare the tender packages for the general contractor and other specialist contractors.
  • Support with the permitting process and strategy.
  • Liaise with local engineers for input on design.

 

What we're looking for

  • Master Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

 

  • At least 10 years of experience in logistic real estate (in a role as contractor, developer, consultant or client)

 

  • Evidence of a strong background in Project Engineering

 

  • Comfortable working in a dynamic work environment

 

  • Highly proficient in English, any other European language is a plus
